FIA Formula Regional European Championship teams wrap up Hockenheim test to launch 2026 season
All 10 teams rolled out the new Tatuus T-326 single-seater

FIA Formula Regional European Championship officially got under way with the opening two days of pre-season testing, held on Tuesday 24 and 
Wednesday 25 March at the Hockenheimring. The German venue welcomed all 10 registered teams set to compete this season, ahead of the championship’s opening round on the 24–26 April weekend at Spielberg (Austria).
The Hockenheim test also marked the debut of the second-generation Tatuus T-326 single-seater, with all teams rolling out the new car together for the first time. A full field of 30 drivers hit the track across the two days, completing a total of 2,515 laps – over 11,500 kilometres – despite mixed conditions, with rain affecting Wednesday morning session and a brief shower in the afternoon.
In dry conditions, Marcus Saeter set the overall fastest time, posting a 1:34.370 during Tuesday afternoon’s session. The G4 Racing driver edged Alexandre Munoz (ART Grand Prix), who clocked a 1:34.460, with Tomass Stolcermanis (Prema Racing) just over a tenth further back. Earlier in the day, Saqer Almaosherji had topped the morning session with 1:34.709, also for G4 Racing.
On the second day, Reno Francot (CL Motorsport) led the way in the afternoon on a damp trac
k, setting the best time of 1:34.500. He was followed by RPM’s Jan Przyrowski, 0.281s adrift, with Dion Gowda (Van Amersfoort Racing) close behind. In the morning session, Rashid Al Dhaheri (R-Ace GP) topped the timesheets with a 1:34.589, ahead of Miguel Costa (RPM), 0.093s behind, and team-mate Emanuele Olivieri, who completed the top three just over a tenth off the pace.
All FIA Formula Regional European Championship teams will return to the track in less than a week at Circuit Paul Ricard (30-31 March) for a further two days of testing, ahead of the final pre-season outing at Spielberg on 4–5 April, before the season opener at the same Austrian venue later that month.
