ROBERT KUBICA AL VOLANTE DELLA 499P NUMERO 83 DI AF CORSE NEL FIA WEC 2024
Il team italiano AF Corse sarà al via del FIA World Endurance Championship 2024 con una Ferrari 499P. Al volante Robert Kubica
, attuale campione nella categoria LMP2 del Mondiale endurance. Gli altri due piloti verranno definiti nelle prossime settimane. La terza 499P iscritta nella classe “Hypercar” avrà il numero 83 e sarà gestita esclusivamente da AF Corse (a differenza delle 499P numero 50 e 51, schierate da Ferrari-AF Corse come nella precedente stagione).
Robert Kubica: “La 499P è completamente diversa rispetto ai prototipi LMP2 che ero abituato a guidare ultimamente. Il primo test in pista è stato utile per capire il cockpit e mi ha lasciato una sensazione iniziale positiva. C’è ovviamente tanto lavoro da fare. Ora avrò la grande opportunità di guidare un prototipo del Cavallino Rampante: un’emozione bella, direi unica. Sono orgoglioso di essere entrato nella squadra AF Corse e di essere al volante di una Ferrari”.
ROBERT KUBICA AT THE WHEEL OF AF CORSE’S NUMBER 83 499P FOR THE 2024 FIA WEC
Italy’s AF Corse team will line up at the start of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship with a Ferrari 499P. At the steering wheel will be Robert Kubica, current champion in the LMP2 category of the World Endurance Championship. The remaining two drivers will be determined in the coming weeks. The third 499P entered in the “Hypercar” class will have the number 83 and will be exclusively managed by AF Corse, (distinguishing it from the 499Ps with numbers 50 and 51, fielded by Ferrari–AF Corse like last season).
Robert Kubica: “The 499P is completely different from the LMP2 prototypes I have been used to driving most recently. The first test on the track was useful to understand the cockpit and left me with a positive initial feeling. There is obviously a lot of work to be done. Now I will have the great opportunity to drive a Prancing Horse prototype: it’s a great thrill – unique, I would say. I’m proud to have joined the AF Corse team and be at the wheel of a Ferrari.”
