30° ANNIVERSARIO DELLA SUBARU IMPREZA GRUPPO A PRESENTATO DA BEST A RALLYLEGEND

La famiglia McRae e Prodrive con David Richards in prima fila presenti a “Subaru Impreza – 30 anni di leggenda”, uno degli eventi iconici di questa edizione di Rallylegend. Schierate a San Marino le 15 migliori Impreza 555 ex ufficiali prodotte da Prodrive. Alla guida Jimmy McRae, navigato da Hollie McRae, Alister e Max McRae, il crossista pluriridato Tony Cairoli, Piero Liatti, il campione uruguaiano Gustavo Trelles e l’argentino Marcos Ligato.

La ricorrenza è di quelle importanti e la location non poteva che essere Rallylegend per ricordare il 30° Anniversario del debutto della Subaru Impreza 555 nel Campionato Mondiale Rally, avvenuto al rally 1000 Laghi nel 1993. Un evento che rimarrà tra quelli iconici nella storia di Rallylegend.

Per la celebrazione di “Subaru Impreza – 30 anni di leggenda”, l’obiettivo ambizioso e centrato in pieno da Carlo Boroli di Best, con il supporto di Vito Piarulli per Rallylegend, era riunire le quindici migliori Subaru Impreza 555 ex ufficiali prodotte da Prodrive, quelle che hanno visto alla guida tutti i più grandi campioni degli anni ’90.  Prodrive con David Richards, come tutta la famiglia McRae, hanno risposto positivamente e con entusiasmo all’invito, confermando la loro presenza a San Marino e rendendo così unico, e probabilmente irripetibile, l’evento in preparazione per Rallylegend.

Prodrive porterà in esposizione e in parata la mitica N1WRC, guidata da Colin nella stagione 1996 e ora curata dal reparto heritage della casa di Banbury. In totale se ne contano più di quindici nella lista dei partecipanti, e oltre alla N1WRC sarà presente la L555BAT, macchina appartenente alla famiglia del compianto Colin, con alla guida Jimmy McRae navigato dalla nipote Hollie.  Saranno presenti altre “targhe illustri” come la L555REP, la N555SRT o ancora la N555BAT che hanno visto alla guida Carlos Sainz, Piero Liatti, che farà parte della squadra a Rallylegend, il compianto Richard Burns, Miki Biasion e Simon Jean Joseph. Al volante a Rallylegend di due Impreza 555 anche Alister McRae e Max McRae, fratello e nipote di Colin. La Impreza targata L439BXP sarà eccezionalmente guidata in gara a Rallylegend dal pluriridato crossista Tony Cairoli mentre il grande pilota uruguaiano Gustavo Trelles affronterà le prove speciali di Rallylegend a bordo della Best Impreza 01. Anche l’altro pilota sudamericano Marcos Ligato sarà al volante di una “555”.

Carlo Boroli, fondatore di Best, commenta così: “La missione di Best è quella di “mantenere vive le leggende”, a partire dalla realizzazione della Best Impreza, unica continuazione auto Gruppo A in Edizione Limitata di otto, per celebrare le vittorie di Colin nel WRC con la Impreza 555. Lavoro a quest’evento da anni e la partecipazione di tutte le Impreza gruppo A ex ufficiali e di Prodrive, che le ha create, è un grande successo che spero il pubblico di Rallylegend apprezzerà con entusiasmo e passione”.

Hollie McRae sarà per il secondo anno consecutivo Special Guest di Best e insieme a Carlo Boroli daranno vita, nel pomeriggio di venerdì 13 ottobre al Rally Village, al Talk Show sulla Subaru Impreza con ospiti illustri e con la consegna di un premio speciale a Prodrive.

Best accompagnerà le Impreza ex ufficiali con la sua nuova creazione: la Best Impreza03 realizzata per mantenere vivo il ricordo della terza vittoria assoluta di Colin con l’Impreza Gruppo A al Rally della Nuova Zelanda del 1995.

Le Impreza della celebrazione si esibiranno poi, tutte insieme, nella Parade del sabato mattina, sulla prova speciale “The Legend”, per uno spettacolo indimenticabile.

Ai quindici esemplari della celebrazione, si aggiungono poi altre cinque Subaru Impreza 555 iscritte al rally, per un totale di una “ondata blu” con ben venti esemplari al via.

30th ANNIVERSARY OF THE GROUP A SUBARU IMPREZA PRESENTED BY BEST AT RALLYLEGEND

The McRae family and Prodrive with David Richards are set to attend one of the iconic events of this edition of Rallylegend. The fifteen best ex-works Impreza 555 produced by Prodrive will line up in San Marino. Jimmy McRae to take the wheel, with Hollie McRae on the notes, in addition to Alister and Max McRae, multi-titled MX star Tony Cairoli, Piero Liatti, Uruguayan champion Gustavo Trelles and Argentinian Marcos Ligato.

There could be no better place than Rallylegend at which to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the Subaru Impreza 555’s debut in the World Rally Championship, which came at the 1993 1000 Lakes rally. An event that will undoubtedly go down in Rallylegend history.

Carlo Boroli at Best, together with the support of Rallylegend’s Vito Piarulli, had the ambitious aim to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the Group A Subaru Impreza by bringing together the fifteen best ex-works Subaru Impreza 555 cars produced by Prodrive, those driven by all the great champions of the 90s. Prodrive with David Richards, along with the whole McRae family, responded positively and enthusiastically to the invitation, confirming their attendance in San Marino and ensuring that the event planned for Rallylegend will be totally unique.

Prodrive will exhibit and parade with the legendary N1WRC, the car driven by Colin during the 1996 season and now curated by the heritage department at the Banbury company HQ. In total, there are more than fifteen vehicles on the entry list. In addition to the N1WRC, there is the L555BAT, a car that belongs to the family of the late Colin, to be driven by Jimmy McRae with niece Hollie on the notes. Other ‘prestigious plates’ on the list include the L555REP, the N555SRT and the N555BAT, driven in the past by the likes of Carlos Sainz, Piero Liatti, who will be part of the team at Rallylegend, the late Richard Burns, Miki Biasion and Simon Jean Joseph. Also set to drive two Impreza 555 cars at Rallylegend are Alister McRae and Max McRae, Colin’s brother and nephew. The Impreza with plate L439BXP will be fielded in the Rallylegend race by multi-titled MX champion Tony Cairoli, while the great Uruguayan driver Gustavo Trelles will take on the Rallylegend special stages at the wheel of the Best Impreza 01. Fellow South American driver Marcos Ligato will be at the wheel of a “555”.

Carlo Boroli, founder of Best, comments: “The Best mission is to “keep the legends alive”, starting with the creation of the Best Impreza, the only Group A car continuation in a limited edition of eight, to celebrate Colin’s WRC wins with the Impreza 555. I’ve worked on this event for years and the participation of all the ex-works Group A Impreza vehicles and also Prodrive, who created them, is a huge success that I hope the Rallylegend public will truly appreciate.”

Hollie McRae will be a Best Special Guest for the second year running and, together with Carlo Boroli, will present the Talk Show on the Subaru Impreza on the afternoon of Friday 13 October in Rally Village, with special guests and the presentation of a special prize to Prodrive.

The ex-works Imprezas will be joined by Best’s latest creation – the Best Impreza03 created to commemorate Colin’s third win with the Group A Impreza in the 1995 New Zealand Rally.

The Imprezas of the celebration will then perform, all together, in the Saturday morning Parade, on the special stage “The Legend”, for an unforgettable show.

The fifteen cars involved in the celebration will be joined by a further five Subaru Impreza 555 cars that are entered into the rally, for a “blue wave” comprising twenty vehicles in total.
