COLIN MCRAE WRC 1995: RALLYLEGEND RICORDA IL TRIONFO DEL CAMPIONE SCOZZESE

Trenta anni fa il pilota ufficiale della Subaru Impreza 555 vinceva il suo primo e unico titolo mondiale rally. Rallylegend crea “Colin McRae WRC 1995”, lo special event per celebrarlo nella quattro giorni sammarinese

Repubblica di San Marino – Rallylegend e una delle grandi leggende dei rally. È un legame forte quello con Colin McRae, uno dei campioni che ha colpito e continua a rimanere nella memoria di folte schiere di appassionati. Che trenta anni fa ha vinto il suo primo ed unico titolo mondiale, con quella Subaru Impreza 555 azzurra che ha trascinato nella mitologia dei rally.

Sarà uno special event all’interno dell’evento Rallylegend quello che vuole celebrare, nei quattro giorni dal 2 al 5 ottobre nella Repubblica di San Marino, Colin McRae.

Si chiama “Colin McRae WRC 1995” e la famiglia dal campione scozzese ha già abbracciato con entusiasmo l’iniziativa, così come Carlo Boroli, supporter e animatore con il suo progetto “Best Impreza”. Jimmy McRae, papà di Colin e cinque volte campione inglese di rally, sarà presente a San Marino così come il fratello Alister, anche lui campione inglese, con alcune buone prestazioni nel Mondiale Rally. Per l’occasione, saranno ospiti a Rallylegend alcuni campioni e grandi piloti legati a Colin McRae e al periodo in cui si è sviluppato l’apice della sua carriera.

Alister McRae sarà uno dei protagonisti del “McRae Subaru gruppo A Rally Trophy”, vera e propria affascinante gara nella gara aperta a Subaru Impreza e Legacy, rigorosamente gruppo A, con premi dedicati messi in palio da Pirelli e Sparco.

Altra iniziativa, che ha trovato già l’adesione di molti collezionisti e proprietari, l’esposizione di vetture originali guidate da Colin McRae nella sua carriera: oltre alle Subaru Impreza e Legacy, saranno nel Rally Village Ford Focus WRC, Citroen Xsara WRC e tante altre vetture utilizzate dal fuoriclasse scozzese, tra cui alcune vere e rare esclusive.

Altro momento imperdibile la “Special Stage Parade”, al sabato e alla domenica, con la suggestiva sfilata di gruppo nella prova speciale “The Legend” delle Subaru Impreza e Legacy presenti a Rallylegend.

“Per noi Colin McRae rappresenta l’essenza di Rallylegend. – è il pensiero di Vito Piarulli, organizzatore con Paolo Valli dell’evento sammarinese – L’invito che gli avevamo fatto nel 2006 per averlo l’anno successivo nel nostro evento, che lui già conosceva e apprezzava, aveva trovato la sua entusiastica adesione. Purtroppo, il tragico incidente con l’elicottero ha cancellato questa possibilità. Per noi resta un campione indimenticabile e, grazie alla amicizia della sua famiglia, lo celebreremo, ancora una volta, come merita”.

Anche Carlo Boroli, fondatore di “Best Impreza” si associa: “Sono incredibilmente contento che Best con la famiglia McRae celebrino il 30esimo del mondiale di Colin e della Subaru Impreza alla 23esima edizione di Rallylegend. E insieme agli organizzatori lo faremo nel migliore dei modi, istituendo il 1° Trofeo Colin McRae, che premierà il vincitore di un vero rally nel rally, riservato alle Subaru Gruppo A. Ospite d’onore Alister McRae su Best Impreza, naturalmente. Una delle sei – su sette – Best Limited Edition prodotte in ricordo delle sette vittorie di Colin nel mondiale con la gruppo A. COLIN MCRAE WRC 1995: RALLYLEGEND COMMEMORATES  THE SCOTTISH CHAMPION’S TITLE SUCCESS

Thirty years ago, the factory driver won his first and only world rally title with the Subaru Impreza 555. Rallylegend creates “Colin McRae WRC 1995”, a special event to honour him during the four-day event in San Marino

Republic of San Marino – Rallylegend and one of the rallying greats. There is a strong connection to Colin McRae, a champion who made his mark and continues to live on in the hearts and minds of the fans. Thirty years ago, McRae won his first and only world title, becoming part of rallying history with the blue Subaru Impreza 555.

A special event to take place over the four days of Rallylegend, on 2-5 October, will celebrate the legend that is Colin McRae.

The initiative, “Colin McRae WRC 1995”, is enthusiastically supported by the Scottish champion’s family and by Carlo Boroli, founder of the “Best Impreza” project. Jimmy McRae, father of Colin and five-time British rally champion, will be in attendance in San Marino, as will brother Alister, another British champion who also achieved results in World Rally. To mark the occasion, they will be joined by a series of champions and great drivers linked to Colin McRae and to the period in which he reached the pinnacle of his career.

Alister McRae will be one of the stars of “McRae Subaru group A Rally Trophy”, a race within a race open only to group A Subaru Impreza and Legacy vehicles, with dedicated prizes provided by Pirelli and Sparco.

Another initiative, which many collectors and owners have already embraced, is the exhibition of original vehicles driven by Colin McRae during his career: as well as the Subaru Impreza and Legacy, Rally Village will host the Ford Focus WRC, Citroen Xsara WRC and many other exclusive vehicles used by the Scottish champion.

Another unmissable moment will be the “Special Stage Parade”, on Saturday and Sunday, when the Subaru Impreza and Legacy vehicles in attendance at Rallylegend will take part in a parade lap of “The Legend” special stage.

“For us, Colin McRae represents the essence of Rallylegend”, comments Vito Piarulli, the organiser of the San Marino event along with Paolo Valli. “In 2006 we invited him to attend our event the following year, an event he already knew about and was very keen to attend. Unfortunately, the tragic helicopter accident prevented this from happening. He remains an unforgettable champion in our minds, and, thanks to the friendship of his family, we will celebrate him, once more, just as he deserves.”

Carlo Boroli, founder of “Best Impreza”, adds: “I’m incredibly pleased that Best, together with the McRae family, will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Colin’s win with the Subaru Impreza at the twenty-third edition of Rallylegend. Together with the organizers we’ll do so in the best possible way, by presenting the first Colin McRae Trophy, which will go to the winner of a real rally within the rally, reserved to Group A Subarus. And the guest of honour will be Alister McRae in a Best Impreza, of course. One of the six – out of seven – Best Limited Editions already produced as a tribute to Colin’s seven group A world championship wins. The Best mission – to keep legends alive – continues!”
