The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine is heading to the Paul Ricard Circuit for the sixth round of the 2023 season, which will also be the last event before the summer break. Over the weekend of July 23rd, the Le Castellet track will host more than 30 Renault Sport Oreca-powered Tatuus cars competing in the Championship jointly managed by Alpine and ACI Sport, promising another exciting sporting spectacle. As the sixth round approaches, Norwegian driver Martinius Stenshorne of R-ace GP leads the Championship standings with a slim two-point margin over his Italian rival Andrea Kimi Antonelli from PREMA Racing. Therefore, the focus in France is firmly on the thrilling battle at the top of the standings, which could potentially shake up the order. Among the highly anticipated front-runners will be German driver Tim Tramnitz from R-ace GP, who has already clinched two victories and stood on the podium three additional times this season. Another driver to watch out for is Dutchman Kas Haverkort, currently occupying fourth place in the drivers’ standings representing Van Amersfoort Racing, having secured a race win in the opening round and achieved two further podium finishes. However, Haverkort will face strong competition from Brazilian driver Rafael Camara of Prema Racing, who, fueled by positive momentum, sits just five points behind in fifth place and is determined to climb higher up the rankings.

Moreover, several drivers will have the advantage of racing on home soil in France, including Pierre-Alexandre Provost, who joins G4 Racing for his debut in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. After two successful seasons in French Formula 4 and testing with G4 Racing during the winter period, Provost’s moment has arrived to make his debut at Le Castellet.

Provost won’t be the only new face in the paddock. An announcement has also been made by KIC Motorsport regarding a new driver who will join the Team for the remainder of the 2023 season. The new addition is Ivan Klymenko, eighteen-year-old Ukrainian driver who is set to make his debut in the series at Paul Ricard.

The event in France will also play a crucial role in the Team Championship battle, with R-ace GP currently leading the way with 283 points, closely pursued by PREMA Racing, who have closed the gap built up in the early part of the season and now is second at 274 points.
