Following on from a 3rd ever-so exceptional edition with some 16,000 enthusiastic spectators on-site, Les Grandes Heures Automobiles are back with a vengeance on 29 & 30 September to pay a well-deserved tribute to this legendary Autodrome just outside Paris.

Les 29 & 30 septembre, plus de 300 autos et motos d’exception viendront rouler en démonstration sur le prestigieux circuit et faire plaisir au public dans une ambiance conviviale. Aux Grandes Heures, place à la passion. Les paddocks sont ouverts et chacun peut discuter et rêver en bonne compagnie.

On 29 & 30 September, over 300 outstanding cars and bikes will strut their stuff on the prestigious race track to thrill the crowds in a really friendly atmosphere. Beaucoup de pilotes d’hier ou d’aujourd’hui ont répondu présent. Les Grandes Heures auront le plaisir d’accueillir Arturo Merzario, pilote F1 Ferrari dans les années 70 et vainqueur d’épreuves d’endurance, associé à Jacques Lafitte ou Jean-Pierre Jarier qui seront là aussi.

A myriad of drivers from yesteryear and today will be joining in. Les Grandes Heures are delighted to welcome Arturo Merzario, F1 Ferrari driver from the 1970s and winner of endurance races, alongside Jacques Lafitte and Jean-Pierre Jarier who will also be with us.

DES PLATEAUX AUTOS QUI VARIENT LES PLAISIRS

Les plateaux autos s’annoncent magnifiques, quelles que soient les séries et les époques, y compris en nocturne. On pourra y voir rouler une Formula E en démonstration, deux Ferrari “Sharknose” et des rarissimes Abarth dans le “plateau Monoplaces”, un plateau “USA / Europe” relevé avec des autos de la Nascar et d’autres du championnat de Production, un plateau 100 % Porsche Vintage, un autre composé de GT de série et de supercars, un plateau rallye exceptionnel avec des Groupe B.

A HOST OF CAR LINE-UPS, AN INVITATION TO DIVERSIFIED PLEASURE.

Car line-ups are set to be beyond compare, whatever the series, whatever the era and, of course, the night-time sessions. Admire a Formula E as it showcases drives around the track, two “Sharknose” Ferraris and the ever-so rare Abarth in the “single-seater line-up,” a “USA/Europe” line-up highlighting NASCAR cars and others from Production Championships, a 100% Vintage Porsche line-up, another comprising series GTs and supercars and an incredible rally line-up with Group B cars.

LA CÉLÉBRATION DU 1^ER TITRE CONSTRUCTEUR D’ALPINE

En 1973, Alpine devenait la 1^re marque à remporter le Championnat du Monde constructeurs. 45 ans après, la plupart des pilotes de l’époque seront réunies autour de Jacques Cheinisse, leur directeur sportif, pour un beau moment de retrouvailles. Le public pourra aussi admirer 5 Alpine usine de l’époque : une ex Andruet, une ex Darniche, une ex Nicolas, une ex Thérier et une ex Vinatier.

CELEBRATING THE ALPINE MANUFACTURER’S 1^ST-EVER AWARD

In 1973, Alpine became the 1st brand to win the manufacturers’ title at the World Rally Championship. 45 years on, most of the drivers from the time will be reunited along with Jacques Cheinisse, their Sporting Director, to enjoy a great get-together. The public will also be able to admire 5 factory Alpines from back in the day: an ex Andruet, an ex Darniche, an ex Nicolas, an ex Thérier and an ex Vinatier.

LA PRÉSENCE DE LA JAGUAR DES RECORDS

Autre grande nouvelle : la présence de la Jaguar XK120 “LWK 707” des records de 1952… 66 ans après sa performance établie sur l’Autodrome. Un événement unique de retrouver cette auto qui a parcouru 27 119 km à 161,42 de moyenne pendant 7 jours et 7 nuits. Un exploit dont on trouve encore la trace avec une plaque sur la tribune du circuit.

THE RECORD-BREAKING JAGUAR ON SHOW

Other great news: the Jaguar XK120 “LWK 707” record breaker back in 1952 will be on show some 66 years after its performance here on the Autodrome. A must-not-miss event to see this car which clocked up 27,119 km at an average speed of 161.42 km/h over 7 days and nights. An exploit which is dearly remembered and engraved on the plaque on the race track grandstand.

DE SUPERBES PLATEAUX MOTO

Avec deux plateaux, la moto a aussi la part belle pendant Les Grandes Heures Automobiles. D’ailleurs, certains pilotes auto renommés en profitent pour laisser leurs voitures et se livrer au plaisir sur deux roues. Là, ils pourront côtoyer des pilotes comme Alain Genoud – double vainqueur du Bol d’Or et sa Godier Genoud, Hervé Moineau, quadruple Champion du Monde d’Endurance, Éric Saul et sa Chevallier avec laquelle il a remporté 2 Grands Prix moto. Bref, de beaux plateaux en perspective.

Bikes also take centrestage during Les Grandes Heures Automobiles with two line-ups. And, to crown it all off… a few renowned car drivers will exchange their 4-wheels for the thrills and pleasure of revving up 2-wheels. Here, they’ll rub shoulders with riders like Alain Genoud – double winner of the Bol d’Or on his Godier Genoud, Hervé Moineau, four-time World Endurance Champion, Éric Saul and his Chevallier with which he won 2 motorbike Grands Prix. All-in-all, incredible line-ups on show.

On Sunday 30 September at 2pm, Aguttes will host its 2nd auctionat the 1924 Pavilion, right at the heart of the Autodrome.
